MEET OUR TEAM

Doug Farr -- Director
Doug has a teaching background, including several years as manager of a tertiary campus, and author and coordinating tutor of a range of tertiary-level tourism and environmental training programs. He has many years experience working in rural communities and strong links with local Maori people. Doug has brought his rich knowledge of New Zealand’s bi-cultural story into tertiary education through writing and delivering experiential programs of study.

Clare Loh -- Singapore Marketing Director
Clare Loh oversees the marketing operations in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Global Adventure Consultants Pte Ltd/Innovative Education (a MOE appointed partner in  Panel B for Aust & NZ) serves as the marketing arm for Kuaka Learning Journeys for schools and tertiary institutions from Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia to New Zealand.
With a proven track record, we are the trusted partners of many of the Singapore schools in providing a quality and value for money experience in New Zealand.

Jennifer Grant-Jansma -- US Marketing Director
Kuaka's face in the United States, Jennifer leads our Stateside marketing from Grand Rapids, MI.

Arron Conn -- Programme Manager
Arron heads Kuaka's environmental, ecological, and outdoor skill-based programmes. He also provides consultancy services in ecology and resource management for Kuaka.
Arron has spent most of his life in the Bay of Plenty and is completing a MSc in Ecology. He has worked as a bush craft instructor training youth groups how to survive in the bush, and as a Nature Tour Guide running national ecology, photography, botany, tramping and bird watching tours throughout New Zealand. Arron's interests are New Zealand natural history, pre-European Maori history, and Maori natural medicine.

 

Daryl Winters -- Programme Leader
Daryl is a field leader of Kuaka's conservation volunteer programmes, specialising in rehabilitating natural areas and providing volunteer support for many community-based conservation initiatives.
Daryl comes from a professional outdoor recreation and education background and holds a number of national industry certifications. Daryl excels in group team building and adventure-based learning, from youth development programs to a professional team development. Daryl’s passion is the fun, challenges and magic the outdoors holds, and facilitating groups and individuals in their journey of learning about themselves, others, their surrounding environment.

Jon Sadler -- Academic Development Programme Coordinator
Jon is responsible for the development and delivery of programmes to satisfy specific curricula needs for all high school and  tertiary-level programmes, and ensure academic relevance is satisfied in delivery. With an M.Sc., Diploma in Management and a Certificate in Education, Jon comes from a college and university research and teaching background, and has a particular interest in environmental education and earth and natural sciences.
